MS. MARY MADNESS

Ms. Mary Madness is a feature screenplay Craig Ouellette wrote that is inspired by a dream he had about a street demon hunting a homeless version of himself in an endless nightmare city.

He made a short film called Mental Distortion based on the idea, and while the aesthetic is similar to what the feature Ms. Mary Madness will look like, the monster is VERY VERY different. In the short film it is a person in a suit and mask. In the feature it will be a formless Shadowbeast that haunts our main character, Mary.  It will be accomplished with a mix of creative practical and digital effects, and things as simple as turning off the lights in parts of the frame. Think The Invisible Man but with Shadow.  

Mary is a former teacher who lost her job for doing the right thing and now struggles to get her life back on track and get back to her 15 year old daughter, Nicole, who is now in the foster care system.

Ms. Mary Madness is a nightmare horror film where the audience is invited to sympathize with the charming, yet flawed, Mary as she battle the external and internal demons that can wreak havoc on our lives. Inspirations include Jacob's Ladder, The Thing, In The Mouth Of Madness and Mr. Robot
